Six reproducible examples for cleaning Chinese supplier notes and form fields. Each keeps the original text, selected width categories and expected result; the editable package includes twelve UTF-8 text files and a check log.
Work on a copy. Select letters, digits, punctuation and spaces separately in the width converter. Compare the result with the original Chinese document, then record the reviewer and date. The examples cover product codes, telephone numbers, ISBNs, Chinese punctuation, tabs and line breaks.
Width conversion does not translate Chinese, simplify traditional characters or identify OCR mistakes. Preserve leading zeros and the plus sign in telephone numbers. A full-width comma can change while the Chinese full stop stays unchanged. Do not remove meaningful spaces or line breaks just to make a field look tidy.
