Follow 44 selected family relationship chains with Chinese terms, tone-marked pinyin and reciprocal forms. Includes grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings and their spouses, descendants, cousins and parents-in-law, plus an editable table.
Read each arrow from Me, one relationship at a time. In father → older brother, older compares the uncle with your father, not with you. Cousin chains retain both older and younger candidates when your relative age is unknown. The Male and Female columns for reciprocal names describe you, not the person at the end of the chain.
These are common Mandarin relationship terms; a family or region may prefer another form. Reciprocal cousin names can change the paternal or maternal branch. Spouse examples show the self-sex used for that path; a dash marks the branch not used in that example. Keep candidates until the relationship and age are clear. The PDF and TSV cover the same 44 chains.
